Bolt is a lightning-fast arcade space shooter that combines classic asteroid-blasting action with modern weapon progression and explosive visual effects. Navigate through endless waves of asteroids, unlock powerful weapons, and see how long you can survive!

Progress through the game to unlock an arsenal of devastating weapons:

  • Triangle Blaster - Your trusty starter weapon (Always unlocked)
  • Laser Cannon - Fast piercing shots (Unlock at 500 points)
  • Spread Shot - Fire 3 shots at once (Unlock at 1000 points)
  • Homing Missile - Auto-tracking destruction (Unlock at 1500 points)
  • Plasma Burst - Explosive power shots (Unlock at 2500 points)

Weapon Armory System

Visit the armory to view all weapons, check unlock requirements, and equip your favorite loadout before diving into battle.


Explosive Visual Effects

Experience satisfying explosions, beautiful starfield backgrounds, and smooth particle effects that make every shot count.

High Score System

Track your best runs and push yourself to beat your personal records. Every game gets more intense as asteroids multiply!

Progressive Difficulty

The longer you survive, the harder it gets. Can you unlock all weapons and master them all?

CONTROLS

  • W / A / S / D - Move and Rotate your ship
  • SPACE - Fire your equipped weapon
  • ESC - Pause / Return to menu
  • S - Quick start from menu
  • A - Open armory from menu

HOW TO PLAY

  1. Destroy asteroids to earn points
  2. Avoid collisions - one hit and it's game over!
  3. Reach score milestones to unlock new weapons
  4. Visit the Armory to equip unlocked weapons
  5. Master each weapon's unique firing pattern
  6. Survive as long as possible and set new records!

Install instructions

DOWNLOAD & INSTALLATION

Choose the file for your operating system:

  • Windows: Bolt-Windows.zip
  • Mac: Bolt-Mac.zip
  • Linux: Bolt-Linux.zip

WINDOWS

  1. Download Bolt-Windows.zip
  2. Right-click the zip file and select "Extract All"
  3. Open the extracted folder
  4. Double-click Bolt-Windows.exe to play
  5. If Windows shows a security warning, click "More info" then "Run anyway" (this is normal for indie games)

Note: No installation required - just extract and play!

MAC

  1. Download Bolt-Mac.zip
  2. Double-click to extract
  3. Right-click Bolt-Mac and select "Open" (first time only)
  4. If macOS blocks it, go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy and click "Open Anyway"
  5. Future launches: just double-click to play

Note: The security prompt is normal for unsigned apps from indie developers.

LINUX

  1. Download Bolt-Linux.zip
  2. Extract the zip file
  3. Open terminal in the extracted folder
  4. Make it executable: chmod +x Bolt-Linux
  5. Run: ./Bolt-Linux

Alternative: Right-click the file > Properties > Permissions > Check "Allow executing file as program"

REQUIREMENTS:

  • No additional software required
  • All necessary libraries are bundled
  • Works on 64-bit systems
  • Minimum 512MB RAM
  • Any graphics card with OpenGL support

TROUBLESHOOTING:

  • If the game doesn't start, try running as administrator (Windows) or with sudo (Linux)
  • Make sure you extracted the entire zip file, not just the executable
  • Windows Defender may scan the file on first run - this is normal
